Several hotels and businesses in Ayia Napa will remain open at least until the end of November in order to accommodate tourists who are expected to opt for Cyprus holidays after the recent disaster involving the Russian aircraft crashing in the Sinai Peninsula. According to the mayor of Ayia Napa, Giannis Karoussos, due to the recent geopolitical developments in the region several tour operates have diverted their flights to Cyprus for the period between November 2015 – March 2016. An extra 15 flights are already planned for every week from Moscow and St Petersburg to Larnaca and Paphos airports. All tourist companies, hotels, leisure centers and shops will extend their operation for at least until the end of November and further if there is sufficient demand.

The mayor added that this is a unique opportunity to demonstrate to our guests and tourist operators that Cyprus can offer an excellent tourist experience during winter since we have the appropriate infrastructure and weather conditions for winter vacations.
