Geography Now! is an attempt to profile all countries in the World. The following 9 minute video is their take on Cyprus. Its a fast paced presentation of several features, such as political division, religion, demographics etc. It’s also surprising accurate. Enjoy!

Everything that happened to the Cypriots in 1963, 1964 and 1974 is very sad and regrettable, as well as the division of the island for the past 4 decades, but have you considered that all Cypriots are brothers and sisters, regardless them speaking Turkish or Greek?

We all share the same history since the 16th century. Our ancestors being peasants and living together house to house in the villages, sharing the same worries about the weather and the harvest. Our fathers, no matter if Greek or Turkish speaking farmers did not only work the land side to side, but did celebrated together marriages, christenings, circumcision and other religious (Muslim and Christian) feasts. This was the normal course of life till the 1950s.

Any Cypriot older than 70 years would confirm this. I see in everyone of us a Cypriot, some Turkophone and some Grekophone.

Let’s all concentrate on the things that bring us together and unite us, highlighting our similarities and everything that makes Cyprus a great place to originate from and to live.

Since you bothered making such a presentation you should present the facts as s you damn ass!!!

It was quite sad to hear all that reinforcement of Turkish propaganda that there are two entities on the island, the Notrh and the South. The truth is that there is only ONE Cyprus for all its inhabitants Greek, Turkish, Armenian, Latino and Maronites. The awkward political situation is the result of the conflict of interests, mainly Turkish and English, in the area involving some war crimes as well. In reality if the people of Cyprus were left to decide their future alone today things will be more simple.

i dont exctly see whats the point of reuniting this island….we hate Turks and they hate us….case closed…we unite with Greece and u unite with your homeland..for now…maybe in the future if we grow strong and have strong alliances maybe will take back our lands….or maybe you ll take the whole island…who knows….the ONLY truth is we dont want to live together…FACT

The country is occupied by turkey 1 third of the populqtion of greek cypriots qre refugees they have taken our homes you did not mention that at all

Andreas Patsias ask yourself how many turkish people died or disappear between 1960-1974 ? And you talking about invasion I never forget the check points set up by greeks as far as I know you wanted the ENOSIS NOT THE TURKISH PEOPLE

I notice that they did not say anything about TURKISH INVESION and OCCUPYW THE 40% OF THE WHOLE ILAND!!!!!!!!!!!!
