According to an article in Sigmalive, a 35 year old unemployed man from Nicosia who is living on a 450 euro Social Welfare Services allowance is facing a court order today by Nicosia Municipality for failing to pay a 160 euro garbage collection fee. He explained that with the allowance he is required to pay rent, while he lost his parents at a young age and has no one to help him out of his current situation. “I have no food to eat, my refrigerator is empty, I have no money left and on top of that they want to take me to court for 160 euro”.
