Peya municipality has yesterday declared the sea caves area in front of the EDRO III shipreck as an official wedding site. The municipality officials who have been facing endless bureaucratic problems in their attempts to have the ship removed from their shore, decided that its time to change strategy and found a better use for it. According to the Maria Yiangou, who is responsible for wedding ceremonies at the municipality, there has been an increasing demand for civil weddings by couples visiting the area, mostly from Russia. It is expected that the municipality with hold 650 wedding ceremonies during 2014.
