The Working Committee of the House of Representatives further discusses amendments fo the Maternity Protection Law which will be voted by the Parliament on April 13. With the new amendments a pregnant woman would not be obliged to inform the employer of their pregnancy with a medical certificate and, if fired in the process, the employers must withdraw the dismissal unless they can prove that they did not know about the pregnancy. For mothers whose infants require stay in hospital incubators, maternity leave will be extended by the number of days of hospitalization, up to a maximum period of six weeks.
