The Head of the negotiations between Turkey and the EU Egemen Bağış said that Turkey has not caused any problems in Cyprus. He added that Turkey would not let go of Cyprus for the EU or the EU for Cyprus.

In an interview on channel TRT, Mr. Bagis said that “we have succeeded in changing the international balance without withdrawing a single soldier from Cyprus.”

He also said that in the past Turkey and north Cyprus were accused to have caused the problems on the island. “As a result of our strong stance, the world has finally realized that the Cypriot side which prevented the solution and that the Turkish side tried as much as possible to find a solution”.
