CYTA, PrimeTel and MTN all have plans to improve their internet connectivity and lower their prices in 2011 to bring them more in line with the rest of Europe.
Breakdown of the planned changes:
- CYTA is doubling the speeds of their Netrunner product on 1st February while keeping the prices the same and is adding a new 12mbit package for home use.
- PrimeTel will be offering VDSL (Very-high-bitrate digital subscriber line) based connectivity with speeds up to 70Mbit at lower prices than their current offerings. At the same time they hope to bring online their new underwater cable that is being built in eastern Mediterranean.
- MTN (via OTENET) will also be riding the VDSL bandwagon sometime next year but no details were released.
